Lynn Riemer, president of ACT on Drugs, Inc., has an outstanding reputation as a speaker, trainer, and advocate on the issues related to drug abuse. As an experienced chemist and prior participant in the North Metro Drug Task Force in Colorado, her life experiences bring a real, personal, and vivid face to the issues presented by illicit drug use, especially the Meth Epidemic. Over the past 9 years, Lynn has spoken regularly with students, communities, companies, and governmental agencies about drug awareness, recognition, and prevention. While her talks relate to all drugs, Lynn specifically targets Methamphetamine because of its devastating effects and its frequent use.
Lynn has co-chaired the drug endangered children program, as well as worked to create new laws protecting children who are living in homes where meth is manufactured. She is a co-author of the book “The Methamphetamine Crisis: Strategies to Save Addicts, Families, and Communities,” and received the Community Champion for Children Award from Adams & Broomfield CASA in 2010. While working with the drug task force, she developed intensive programs used to train emergency and community services in the handling of hazardous waste and the management of clandestine labs. Additionally, she has been part of governmental committees to create regulations for meth clean up in the state of Colorado.
Lynn has provided trainings to over 110,000 people in Colorado, Nebraska, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Iowa, Minnesota, Louisiana, Georgia, New Mexico, Texas, Indiana, Washington DC, and Nevada. She has presented to the employees and contractors of companies such as Williams, Exxon, Chevron, BP, Halliburton, Marathon Oil, EnCana Oil, Xcel Energy, RE/MAX, Keller Williams, Coldwell Bankers, and the Colorado Association of Realtors. She has also worked with organizations such as National Jewish Hospital, Colorado Department of Human Services, National CASA, Louisiana CASA, Indiana CASA, Volunteers for Youth Justice, Probation and Parole, Department of Youth Corrections, Colorado School Safety Resource Center, Colorado Sheriff’s Association, Colorado EMS, Children’s Hospital, Colorado Emergency Planning Commission, Fire and Life Safety Educators of Colorado, and 70% of the School Districts in Colorado. Lynn’s subject knowledge and experience, along with her ability to transfer this knowledge in an interesting and dynamic manner, make her a key ingredient in educating our children, our friends, and our community on the issues and hazards of illicit drug use.
