The Trip (2013) tells the true story of Hung, a young Vietnamese man trafficked abroad on the promise of a job and a new life. Upon arrival in the UK Hung is forced to work in a cannabis factory. A prisoner in a new world, completely isolated without even natural light by which to count the days, Hung’s existence becomes monotonous, claustrophobic, surreal – as if he were trapped in a nightmare. The film was made as part of the Unchosen Film Campaign Against Human Trafficking and is based on a real life case study from ECPAT UK.
